Visiting the South Coast
Worthing and its surrounding areas have a lot to offer and all of our students can enjoy a wide variety of activities during their stay, whether they are on a mini or long stay.
Worthing is in an enviable location on the South Coast and is surrounded by a number of popular towns and cities including London, Brighton & Portsmouth, all of which offer a host of sightseeing and cultural possibilities.
There are also lots of activities available in Worthing for those who do not wish to travel so far afield such as, visits to the beach, cinema, theatre and museum. Worthing also has a large shopping area which features a number of well known stores and cafes.
This is a typical itinerary for students visiting the UK through EFAA. There may be changes at certain times however this is a good guide to the activities students may take part in during their stay.
- Monday Evening: Arrival
- Tuesday: Full day trip to Portsmouth visiting Spinnaker Tower, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and Gunwharf Quays Shopping Centre.
- Wednesday: Full day trip to Brighton visiting the Royal Pavillion and the Sea Life Centre.
- Thursday: Full day trip to Hastings visiting the Castle and Smugglers Adventure.
- Friday: Full day trip to London visiting the London Eye, Changing of Guards and Madame Tussauds.
The South Downs
The South Downs are classed as an area of outstanding natural beauty, and it is easy to see why. With historic towns and villages dotted through this beautiful countryside it really is a must see area.
London
A visit to London is a must. The capital is only an hour and a half away by train and has many sightseeing oportunities such as the Houses of Parliment, Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square and the London Eye
Brighton
Brighton is approximately 30 minutes drive or train journey from Worthing and is another town that is well worth a visit.there are many attractions as well as a wide range of shops and restaurants.
Chessington World of Adventures
Chessington World of Adventures is a theme park and a zoo all rolled into one, with a range of hair raising rides and safari adventures it makes a great day out
Activities in and around Worthing
Swimming (Splash Point)
Splashpoint is a new multi million pound swimming complex featuring flumes and diving boards, and best of all it is just a 5 minute walk from the centre of Worthing
Go Karting (Brooklands)
Just a 5 minute drive or a short bus journey from Worthing town centre is the outdoor Go-Karting Track at Brooklands Pleasure Park. This attraction provides great fun for all ages.
Bowling
Worthing has a large underground ten-pin bowling centre right in the middle of the town, and just over the road from the beach.
Theatre & Cinema
Worthing town centre has a range of cinemas and theatres which show the latest blockbusters and shows that have featured in London's West End Theatre District.
